Day Dreamin'

These days I have been dreaming of this place...
About 5 years ago, my parents, Brad and I went to Orange Beach for a week.  It was pretty much the most relaxing vacay ever. My mom and I went down on a Sunday and then Brad and my dad came down that Wednesday and we left on the following Sunday.  It was great just getting away from it all and lounging around on the beach all day and eating yummy seafood at night. Plus the boat races were the week we were there and they raced right in front of our condo! So much fun!

Beach trips with my girls are the BEST too!! We always have so much fun and we have definitely made some memories over the years.  I'm thinking that along with a family beach trip a girl's trip is in order!

My hubby is so tired of me begging him for a trip to the beach.  We haven't had a vacation in two years.  Last year was a little hectic to say the least.  I'm hoping this year we can at least getaway for a weekend!

Rambling

Life seems to be going so fast lately.  My days are a blur and I always have to ask someone what day it is.  I sleep, wake up, get ready, get Addi ready and fed, take her to daycare, go to work, pick her up, come home, cook, eat, clean, bath time, and then I hand her over to Brad so maybe I can have 30 minutes to myself and then I repeat the process all over again the next day.  I long for the weekends when we can just be together as a family.  Most of my weekends consist of catching up on housework, grocery shopping and laundry.  Times like these make me want to be a stay at home mom so badly.  I'm not saying they have it easy at all.  In fact it's probably 10 times harder than my job now.  Addi is growing up so quickly and I feel like i'm missing out on so much.  She is with the daycare at least 9 hours out of the day.  That's 45 hours a week that I'm missing out on - that's crazy just thinking about!!  I know right now I have to work.  I want to be able to provide a good future for her and not have to worry about money because we are living off one income.  Brad works so hard to provide for us and he's the best husband and daddy to Addi that I could ever ask for.  I'm not trying to sound like a Debbie Downer and I'm very thankful I have a job.  I just sometimes wish life would slow down.  Maybe I just need to slow down and enjoy every second I get with my family.

For Sale

We moved into the house we live in now about 8 months ago.  We made the decision to move before selling our other house.  We did this with the intentions of immediately cleaning it out and putting a for sale sign in the yard.  Little did we know that we would get so comfortable in our new house and forget about the old one (except once a month when the mortgage is due).  FINALLY 8 months later we decide to go clean up the old house.  This is what we did Saturday.  It was a lot of work b/c we still had a few things there that had to be moved and we needed to touch up some paint and completely clean the inside.  Sweeping and mopping an entire house will really make your back hurt!  We are calling our realtor this week and will hopefully have a sign in the yard by Wednesday.

When we came home Brad did some yard work and Addi and I played with her "water table".  She LOVED it!  She splashed water everywhere and had a blast.  I took pictures, but I realized today that my SD card wasn't in my camera at the time.  In fact I have no clue where it is.  I guess I will have to buy a new one.  I'm in the market for a new camera also.  The screen shattered on mine and it just made me sick. Ugh.

I'm hoping for a relaxing week!

No More Bottle

Addi is officially off the bottle!  It was no where near as hard as I thought it would be.  We began the transition Thursday morning.  She had a little bit of a meltdown when I didn't immediately put a bottle in her mouth that morning, but it was smooth sailing from then on!!  She loves her sippy cup now. However, she makes a huge mess with her milk when drinking out of it.  She has also slept in her bed the past three nights, Praise Jesus!!  In fact, she's sound asleep right now.  :)

Today was beautiful and the temperature was just right.  I couldn't resist getting outside, so I loaded up Addi in the jogging stroller and we went for a walk around the neighborhood.  I'm SO out of shape.  I thought I was going to have to call Brad to come pick us up!  It was so hard pushing the stroller and all 25 lbs of Addi up our big hill. It definitely reminded me that I need to get out and walk/run more often.

I have recently joined E-Mealz.  It's a menu planning website that is based on the sales for the week.  You can choose whichever store you use the most.  I chose the weight watcher meal plan for Publix.  They have all types of meal plans like low calorie, WW, meal plans for two, etc.  It's only $5/month.  Click the link below to join!

Tomorrow is Brad's 31st birthday, so we will be busy celebrating his big day!! I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

12 Months

Today, we went for Addi's 12 month doctor visit.  He said she looks great and is developing right on track.  She also had to get 5 shots.  Hearing her cry almost made momma cry!  It broke my heart!
Here are her stats at 12 months:
*weight: 25 lbs (95th percentile)
*height: 32 1/2 (99th percentile)
*head circumference: 17 1/2 (50th percentile)

The only thing I am concerned about is her speech.  I'm probably just being paranoid b/c I was told from the get go that she would more than likely be "delayed".  All she says is "da-da", but she jabbers all of the time.  He said she would probably advance a lot over the next few weeks, but if she doesn't in about 6 weeks to call him. But because she is developing normally in all other areas, he's not as concerned right now.

On another note, it's time to quit the bottle!  She hasn't really done that well with drinking from a sippy cup, but tonight I put some milk in one and she gulped it down.  The only issue I see will be morning time.  As soon as she wakes up she wants a bottle.  I've tried giving her oatmeal, but she wont eat it until she's had her bottle.  I"m praying for a smooth transition.  The good news is she LOVES table food and will eat almost anything.

Before too long, Addi is going to be running around the house.  She got one of those toys you push around the house for Christmas.  I was a little nervous for her to use it b/c we have all hardwoods and I was scared it would slip out from under her.  Well this didn't slow her down!  She pushes that thing everywhere and she goes so fast, it's hilarious.

This past week, Addi has slept with us almost every night.  She wakes up at 12:30 on the dot every night.  I just put her in our bed b/c i'm normally too tired to do anything else.  As soon as she gets in our bed she is out again.  She wiggles her way towards eiither Brad or me b/c she wants to cuddle.  As much as I love my cuddle bug it's extremely difficult to get a good nights rest with a baby kicking you in the stomach!  Last night she slept all night in her bed, thank goodness.  I'm hoping for the same tonight!

Birthday Girl

This past weekend was so much fun!  Friday was Addi's first birthday.  My friend Emily and I took Addi to the NICU to give the nurses cupcakes.  I was kind of disappointed that some of my fav nurses weren't there, but we will see them next time!  The rest of the day was spent cleaning and preparing for her big party on Saturday.  We had our parent's over for birthday pizza and then Brad and I took a late night trip to Wal-Mart b/c we still had not bought her a gift and I needed some last minute party supplies.  We ended up buying her this table that you fill with water and she can play in it outside.  She LOVES water, so this will be perfect for her.

Saturday's weather was less than delightful.  It was just rainy and nasty out.  But that didn't keep people away from celebrating with us!  We had about 40 people come over and our house was jam packed.  It was so much fun though!  Addi wasn't as shy as she normally is and she loved opening up her presents and playing with her guests.  Everyone was so generous and she got so many great things. She also had a hamburger for the first time and couldn't get enough of it.  She wasn't too sure about her cake at first, but once she got a taste of icing, she dug right in!  Here are a few pictures:
Yummy cake!
Addi looks like she has a sugar high in this pic! haha.

My sweet friend Brittany made this outfit for her to wear on her big day.  I never really got a good picture of the entire outfit, but it has a "1" and her name on it and it was just adorable.

Thanks to everyone who helped make Addi's first birthday so special!
