Worn Slap Out!

The weekend isn't over yet, but I'm exhausted!  Last night, Brad and I went to the Brad Paisley concert.  The tickets I won off the radio included a pre-concert with Jarrod Neimann.  We were able to hear him play a few of his songs and then meet him.  He was SO nice and seemed very genuine.  Brad Paisley puts on a great show and we had so much fun.  I loved date night with the hubs and we should do that more often!  We were in a drawing to win meet and greet passes for Brad Paisley, but we didn't win.  As we were leaving the concert, I told Brad "It would have been nice to meet Brad Paisley, but I'm kind of glad we didn't win b/c I'm tired and just want to go home and get to bed!".  Haha - I'm getting old. Oh how times have changed!

Today, we had Christmas with my dad's side of the family.  Yes, I said CHRISTMAS.  Because dad was in the hospital and "missed" Christmas we decided to wait until he came home and felt like getting together with everyone.  Addi was very shy today.  Every time she's in a big group of people she just ducks her head.  It's cute :)

I have been cooking all night and I just sat down. I love cooking, but I hate worrying about what we are going to eat every night.  It gets tiring every night when I rush home from work, cook, clean, and try to spend time with my fam before Addi goes to bed.  So, I thought I would take a stab at freezer cooking.  I'm starting out VERY slowly.  I can't jump right into the once a month thing (that sounds exhausting!).  Tonight I made Cheesy Corn Soup, Poppyseed Chicken Casserole, Breakfast Burritos and Apple Dumplings.  I plan on cooking some taco meat tomorrow and finish doing something with the rest of the chicken I bought.  I even made some PB&J sandwiches and stuck them in the freezer for lunches.  We spend way too much money going out to eat.  I'm hoping this will eliminate that and we can limit going out to eat to a once or twice on the weekends.  Do any of y'all freezer cook?  How many meals do you normally cook at a time?  I didn't mind the actual process of putting everything together, but I hate the clean up!  Since I cooked everything, Brad is in charge of putting the dishes in the dishwasher! :)

My Week

This week has been kind of crazy.  Tuesday, I had to get my wisdom tooth taken out.  That's right I said tooth, not teeth.  Apparently I only had one.  Thank goodness, b/c i'm not sure I could handle getting four taken out!  It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  They put me to sleep and I haven't felt any pain at all.  I've been kind of loopy b/c of the anesthesia, and I have these awful headaches, but other than that I'm good.  My sweet hubby thought it would be funny to record me talking right after they woke me up and the drive home.  Yeah, you could definitely tell I was not myself b/c I was saying some crazy stuff!

One good thing that happened this week is I won Brad Paisley tickets on the radio!!! I never win anything, so I was so excited.  Brad and I get to go to meet and greet Jarrod Neimann and possibly win chances to meet Darius Rucker and Brad Paisley before the show.  I seriously haven't been to a concert since mine and Brad's first date and that was about 5 years ago!

It snowed here last night and I think we got a good 2 inches.  Addi's daycare was delayed this morning, so I just kept her home with me.  She's already taken a three hour nap and now she's whining for me to come pick her up.  Got to go! Sorry this post was so random! :)

11 Months Old

Last Friday, my baby girl turned 11 months old.  Seriously? I can't even believe I just said that! Time is going by too fast.  Everyday she is doing something new.  She is so funny and constantly has me laughing. I'm sad to say that I don't have any new pictures to post.  Every time I get the camera out, she starts crawling away.  I have more "action" shots than anything and most of them are of her backside! Here are some things about her at 11 months that I want to remember:

  • She LOVES food and will eat almost anything.
  • She still weighs around 23 pounds.
  • Wearing 12-18 month clothes
  • She eats 3 meals a day along with snacks and about 3 bottles (sometimes less)
  • She will pattycake, touchdown, give hugs and shake her head "no"
  • Every time I say "Addi are you sleepy?" she lays her head down.
  • Says "da-da" "kitty" and they tell me at daycare she says "mama", but I've never heard her say it.  I also think she's been saying "hey". She babbles all of the time, but not really saying many words.
  • She's crawling everywhere!
  • She can side step along furniture and stand by herself for a few seconds at a time.  She's very good at bending down to pick up a toy and then standing back up again.
  • LOVES bath time and splashes the entire time.
  • She loves her daddy so much and only wants him when she is sick.
Yesterday, when I went to pick her up at daycare, she came to me at first.  Then her teachers wanted hugs and sugars from her.  Well, when I went to get her from them she clung on for dear life and shook her head "no".  I mean I'm glad she has fun at daycare, but that really hurt my feelings!!! I want so badly to be able to stay home with her, but I know that's not in the plans God has for me right now.  I should be thankful that she loves going to "school" and has loving, caring teachers.

I also found out last week that she has another ear infection.  We started her on ear drops and I learned real quick that it's extremely hard putting ear drops in a moving baby's ear!

Last night, I ordered her first birthday invitations! They are so cute and I can't wait to see them in person! I've never really planned a b'day party, so this is fun for me!

SUYL - What do you feed your kids?

Today, on Kelly's blog she has started back up Show Us Your Life.  Today's topic is what do you feed your kids?  Over the past month or so, we have been introducing "big girl" food to Addi.  At first she didn't know what to think. But, now she LOVES it!

It's hard for me to come up with things for her to eat b/c she can't always eat what we eat.  For breakfast it's yogurt or oatmeal and fruit (in the pic she's eating a waffle :).  I don't have to worry about lunch too much b/c she is fed at the daycare.  They normally eat chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese, fish sticks, chicken nuggest, etc.  For dinner I  give her carrots, mashed potatoes, green beans, mac-n-cheese, or whatever we are eating. As for snacks she eats cheerios, graham crackers, and cereal bars. She still has to have about 3 bottles a day.

I find it hardest to feed her when we go out to eat.  For instance, tonight we went to eat bbq and of course she grabs everything on our plate.  I just tore some french fries up and gave them to her.  I know it's not the healthiest thing in the world, but it kept her satisfied! Besides who would choose cheerios over fries, seriously??

On a side note, my baby is 11 months old today! I can't believe it.  I will do an 11 month update soon.
